Luis Suárez left FC Barcelona on September 2020. The club decided that he was one of the main responsible for the defeat 8-2 against Bayern Munich in Champions League and decided to kick him. Ex-president Josep María Bartomeu took the decision, that was accompanied by head coach Ronald Koeman, who was just arriving.

The Uruguayan kept his silence during a long period of time and now, five months later, he talked with Onda Cero and revealed that he was upset due to the way in which he was told that he was not going to be needed. According to Suárez, Koeman called him and told him that he could leave the club as they were going to dispense of him.

Suárez was very near to move to Juventus, but finally Diego Simeone convinced him to play for Atlético Madrid. Since he joined the Colchoneros, the club stands in the first position in LaLiga and the forward is the top-striker of the league, even above Lionel Messi, with 14 goals scored.

The revenge Suárez planned is now going in a perfect way, as he intends to make Barcelona suffer and regret from the decision they made. The Catalan side is now missing the no. 9, one of the players in the history of the club that scored the most, and occupies the second position, just behind Atlético Madrid.
