Since he assumed the position of coach in the Mexican National Team, Gerardo Martino's pulse did not tremble to make all kinds of modifications in the squad in order to strengthen it. He took out historical players, gave place to others and, facing the double date of FIFA friendlies to be played at the end of March, the Argentine coach analyzes including a couple of surprises.

The Mexico National Team will face its first friendlies in 2021 on March 27 and 30. The first rival will be Wales, in Cardiff, and then there will be a short trip to Austria to face Costa Rica. They will be key tests before a year that will have Nations League and Gold Cup as official competitions. Before the official competitions, Martino will have the opportunity to test players who did not have calls in the previous FIFA windows.

And in a note published in Record, David Medrano revealed the six possible surprises that could appear in the call that is about to take place. Among the names analyzed by Tata's coaching staff, the cases of Javier Salas from Puebla, Fernando Madrigal from Querétaro, Juan Pablo Vigón from Pumas and Isaac Brizuela from Chivas stand out. In the case of the forwards, the two names they have analyzed are Santiago Ormeño from Puebla and Angel Cuate Sepúlveda from Querétaro, the first with 27 years and the second with 30.

César Montes and Carlos Rodríguez are in Martino's plans for the games against Wales and Costa Rica; Jaime Lozano also has them in mind for the Pre-Olympic Tournament, which is why the two technicians will have to agree, with the understanding that the Pre-Olympic has priority. In the case of Montes, it is considered that with players such as "Tiba" Sepúlveda, Johan Vásquez, Brayton Vázquez, Jesús Angulo and Víctor Toro Guzmán the Pre-Olympic can replace Montes, not so in the case of Carlos Rodríguez who has been frequently called by Martino.
