Pep Guardiola's Manchester City seeks to break all the records that stand in his way. In this case, he wants to beat Bayern Munich and win the milestone of the most wins in a row by a team in top-level competitions. With today's 2-1 victory against West Ham, he raised his twentieth victory in a row, and is getting closer and closer to achieving it.

Reviewing the history of football, and based on the 5 most important leagues in the world, in tenth place we find Juventus, which with Paul Pogba at the head and Buffon as emblem, conquered a total of 13 games between December of 2015 and February 2016. They are followed by Olympique of Lyon, and Bayern Munich, with 14 consecutive victories each.

In the 7th place, appears the Real Madrid of 2011, which had as star stars the recent world champions Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas, and one place later, the Burdeaux of France and its main team to beat, Paris Saint Germain with 16. The fourth place goes to the Barcelona of Victor Valdés, Carles Puyol, Ronaldinho and Etoo, who just over a decade ago, would win 18 games in a row.

The number 3 position is the one that Manchester City occupies today, and in which it will be registered if it does not get a smile in the next game this Tuesday, against Wolverhampton, at the Etihad Stadium. Now, if he manages to stay with the three points, he will reach his 21st victory, and he would be just one triumph away from reaching second place, which today corresponds to Real Madrid in 2014, which had figures such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzemá or Gareth Bale. Consequently, the current holder of the record is the aforementioned Bayern Munich with 23 wins in a row, in 2020, so the team led by Pep Guardiola has everything given, to be able to overcome it.

The day Bayern Munich's streaks ended

Bayern Munich is today one of the best teams in the world, and so their results assure it. The year 2020 will be remembered for having conquered the local Bundesliga, the Champions League, and the record for consecutive victories in football history. However, its fans will never forget that on September 27, Hoffenheim intervened 4 to 1, cutting a cumulative 32 games without losing, and the aforementioned milestone.
