According to L’Equipe, the most important sports newspaper in France, there are four main reasons that could make Lionel Messi’sarrival to PSG a bit less unrealistic. Despite the club, and we even dare to say the country, is desperate to have the Argentinian in the team, there is an obvious step that is no longer a problem: his transfer price.

About to turn 34 years old, Messi’s release clause was €700 million (over $845 million), but given we are in the last six months of contract, he can arrange a deal to move the day after his current one expires. That would represent a free transfer, and then, it would “only” be necessary that the club and the player agree his salary and bonus.

In second, Lionel Messi would be welcomed by many good friends. Neymar wants to play with him again, so do their national team partners Ángel Di María and Leandro Paredes. These two have publicly spoken about how good it would be for them to play alongside Messi again. Also, Argentine striker Mauro Icardi would shake hands with him, but he is not that actrive in the national side. And not to mention the Argentinian coach Mauricio Pochettino.

In third, there have already been contacts. When Messi first spoke about a possible exit from Barcelona, PSG’s sporting director Leonardo immediately contacted him. Of course, we are sure that he has already texted him on WhatsApp again. And the fourth and last, it’s probable that PSG has to sell Kylian Mbappé in the upcoming summer transfer market, otherwise, he would leave as a free agent since the deal expires on June 2022.
