Can you imagine what it would be like to be one of the just two men in a hole sucker confederation to have achieved a milestone. That is the case of Canadian national team’s left back Alphonso Davies and the legendary Mexican center back Rafael Márquez. Since this week they are the only two men who have completed an extraordinary achievement that has happened very few times in soccer’s history.

This week Bayern Munich defeated Liga MX giants Tigres and lifted the FIFA Club World Cup trophy in Qatar. The win came through a goal by French national team’s right back Benjamín Pavard who scored in the second half after a very strong is resistance from the Mexican side, led by French icon André-Pierre Gignac. But this is the massive achievement we are talking about.

The title meant the sixth trophy for the German giants in the season, after winning the Bundesliga, the DFB Pokal, the Champions League, the European Super Cup, the German Super Cup and the Club World Cup. They were all conquered with coach Hansi flick on the bench, who has more titles than lost games since his arrival. Yeah, that is absolutely crazy but impressive at the same time.

Davies was a key part of the team in this way but also Rafa Marquezcan be proud of having done so. He achieved the great six in 2009 playing for Barcelona. The team had won the Copa Del Rey, the Spanish La Liga, the Champions League, the Spanish Super Cup, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup. There is a very simple difference, which is that Barcelona collected the six trophies in the same year.
