Not so long ago, Hugo Sanchez exploded when he found out that Juan Reynoso was going to manage Cruz Azul instead of him and told how disappointed he was with the board. He described how the talks with the sports director Jaime Ordiales were advanced, until he made a last minute change that ruined everything, a 50% reduction on the staff's budget.

So Ordiales went out and told ESPN the story from his side, after saying that last minute change that Sanchez complained about was a lie and that he would never do something like that. That maybe he misinterpreted but he does not know why would the Mexican international accuse him of that.

According to Cruz Azul sports director, the board did not agree with Sanchez proposal and that was all, so they offered Juan Reynoso the job, someone who played for the Maquina Cementera and managed Puebla lately in Liga MX. The negotiations with Sanchez were respectful, said Ordiales, but it just did not happen.

The position of Cruz Azul coach was a source of drama in the last month, since Robert Siboldi left following the unexpected comeback suffered from Club Leon in Liga MX semifinals. After some negotiations with Matias Almeyda, he could not leave San Jose Earthquakes in MLS, and then this happened.
