Sports world started 2020 shocked by Kobe Bryant’s death, and ended the year deeply saddened by Diego Maradona’s passing. Both in NBA and soccer were top legends, idolized in every single bit of the world. With highs and lows, with both fans and haters, they have been on top of everything.

Diego Armando Maradona, born in 1960 in Argentina, was for many people the greatest soccer player in history. Both loved and hated for his talent and magic over the grass and his private life scandals, he was a huge icon for his country. He passed away after suffering a heart-attack last November 25, three weeks after celebrating his 60th birthday. His net worth, by then, was just $500,000.

“I dreamed to be like him”, said Kobe Bryant a couple of times. The NBA icon died suddenly in a helicopter accident on January 26, 2020. Despite being a star in basketball, Bryant lived big part of his childhood in Italy, and there, he got interested in soccer. Casually, Maradona was playing for Napoli in some of those seasons.

By the time of his unfortunate helicopter accident which killed him and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, Bryant had an alleged net worth of over $600 million. During his life, Maradona raised dozens of millions thanks to some contracts and living a luxury life, particularly in Italy.

Bryant confessed to have a big moment in his life when he met Maradona when he was supporting his national team in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. He asked him for a photo together.
