Lionel Messi has left Barcelona. But not because of the club, a thing that may be occurring in the future, but the city. The Argentinian legend decided with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo to take his sons Thiago, Mateo and Ciro out of the city where they live since he is 13 years old to spend Christmas.

The place chosen by the legend to celebrate with his relatives is Rosario, the city in Argentina where he was born and raised. Messi usually travels there in this type of dates, but many expected that he wasn’t going to do so this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the tight schedule that the Catalan side will face in a few days.

Messi has just left behind the record from Pele for goals scored in a single club against Real Valladolid on LaLiga Week 16. On December 29, Barça will be back in action when facing Eibar on Nou Camp, and we will have to wait to see what head coach Ronald Koeman decides to do with his star after a long trip.

Despite what occurs in the next matches with him, it seems to be that Messi will leave Barcelona soon. The no. 10 tried to do so during the past transfer window, but ex-president Josep María Bartomeu denied him that chance. With his contract ending on June 2021 now, he is set to leave and Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are possible destinies.
