Karim Benzema is going through a very good moment, even though his side Real Madrid isn't. The French attacker has transformed into a key player since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and leads, aside with Sergio Ramos, the locker room of one of the most important teams in the world.

Real Madrid tied their second game of the Champions League group stage against Borussia Monchengladbach and Benzema scored a goal with which he achieved a record. The forward is now, aside with Lionel Messi, the only player in history to score in 16 consecutive Champions League season.

Benzema is 32 years old, played for the first time the UCL on 2004/05 season playing for his former club Olympique Lyon and scored his very first goal the next one. He has now netted 66 goals in the most important competition in the world. Messi scored his very first time on 2004/05 season and has 116 goals.

Real Madrid played two Champions League games so far and won none. In their debut they lost against Shakhtar and now they will face twice in a row Inter, in two key games to define their future in the competition. Zinedine Zidane side has the all-time record as UCL champion, with 13 titles.
