The former VP of FC Barcelona, Emili Rousaud, reveled where dos the Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi wants to end his career at. The executive also added that Messi had a really bad relationship with Josep María Bartomeu not only because he didn't let him go his offseason but because Messi blames the former president for FC Barcelona's present.

Rousaud said clearly that Barcelona needs to present a clear path through which the club can get back to be competitive, because Messi is still thinking about signing with Newell's Old Boys from Argentina after the 2022 Qatar World Cup. This means that Messi plans to stay at least three more seasons in Europe.

Rousaud's opinion is that the club would make a mistake offering Messi an extension of just one year. Messi's claims over the Catalan team's level where about the bad managerial arrangements and decisions. In this sense, Rousaud, who resign to Bartomeu's commission on February, said that the next president of FC Barcelona needs to make up a professional plan before trying to convince Leo.

Finally, the former executive said that Josep María Bartomeu's worst mistake was to believe that Messi is just interested in money. Rousaud said that Bartomeu thought that just with the biggest salary Messi would choose to stay at Catalunya. But what really motivates Messi, he said, is to be able to achieve football objectives.
