Diego Lainez came to be compared to Lionel Messi for his way of playing football but currently in Betis he does not have minutes to demonstrate the quality of a player he is. Inside the squad they believe that the way Lainez leads the training sessions and the games, he can hardly match Messi. There are also other issues that his teammates revealed that are worrying for the future of Lainez and the Mexican team.

One of Lainez's teammates at Real Betis is Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. At a press conference, the former FC Barcelona goalkeeper who shared training sessions and games with Lionel Messi said that Lainez is a great soccer player but that he is mentally very weak. This defect would be the one that does not allow Lainez to start at Real Betis.

For Claudio Bravo, these qualities are taken over time. When you are older and more experienced you are able to control your mental part better. Lainez today can be as good as Messi playing football but he is not mature enough to cope with the situations that are presented to him.

Lainez's few minutes are not a coincidence for the Chilean goalkeeper since his head is not connected to the talent he has. The media exaggerates Lainez's level and the player believes everything they say. Clearly Diego Lainez is not yet ready to take on the responsibility of being one of the players who compares himself to Lionel Messi.
