After Bartomeu's resignation, we are already seeing a renovated Lionel Messi at FC Barcelona

It's too early to arrive to conclusions about Lionel Messi's future after Josep María Bartomeu's resignation to the presidency of FC Barcelona. But in the first game after his era the team looked refresh and even relieved. There where moments in which the team played as similar as their historical style as it can be remembered.

Besides a good match from Messi, which is nothing to be underestimated as we are speaking of the best player in the world, Ronald Koeman decided to place, in the midfield, Miralem Pjanic together with Frenkie de Jong. One of the players that has been more criticized lately in Barcelona has been Sergio Busquets, specially because of his slowness. Pjanic and de Jong added much more dynamic to the team.

Another improvement in FC Barcelona has been the cooperation within the players on the offense. Pedri was placed at the middle of the attack, letting Lionel Messi to start on the right side, his favorite spot. At the same time, Pedri moved everywhere to help his teammates and create spaces for them. It was a very interesting game from the 17 year-old child.

Finally, both Dembele and Griezmann conected with Messi much more than what they have been doing last season. FC Barcelona has never been able to established a good conection between Messi and the Frenchman forward, which happened today. One of Messi's favorite moves with Luis Suárez is to assist the forward at the middle of the area and receive the devolution to shoot the ball in movement. Today, Griezmann allowed him that move. In the first game without Bartomeu, we saw things that invite us to believe that FC Barcelona can be a much better team that what they have been showing up to now.
