After six years and a half playing for Tigres, Nahuel Guzman won last night the CONCACAF Champions League for the first time after losing three finals in this competition, plus another defeat in Copa Libertadores final in 2015. The 2-1 victory versus Los Angeles FC meant the achievement of something that seemed impossible not so long ago.

Having lifted his first international trophy, at 34 years old and with only six months more in his contract, he is thinking about leaving Tigres and joining a MLS side for the last years of his competitive career. There are three clubs that need a goalkeeper, but only one of them is interested in Guzman.

-DC United: the Washington based side has failed to do a good impression in the 2020 season and the board wants to upgrade Bill Hamil.

-New York City FC: the desire of compete is still there, but the team lacks a leader in and out the field. Guzman would be a big improvement for the team spirit,

-Philadelphia Union: the best team of the regular season wants a goalkeeper who does not fail in important matches to secure the chase for MLS Cup. Jim Curtin knows it and asked for Guzman.

With the U actively wanting Nahuel Guzman, the club is expected to make a convincing offer before the 2021 MLS season starts. If the goalkeeper ends up signing for them, the hopes of becoming MLS champions will be bigger.
