Gabriel Batistuta had a tremendous professional career. The Argentinian attacker was born at Newell’s and then played for Boca Juniors, River Plate, Fiorentina, AS Roma, Inter and Al-Arabi SC before retirement. He scored an incredible amount of goals, being Argentina national team top-scorer until the arrival of Lionel Messi.

Batistuta was a champion almost in every club he played for. His great capacity and conditions make him one of the most dangerous forwards in the whole world. At Argentina national team he scored 54 goals on 78 matches played having an incredible record that was only overcome by Messi.

But after so many years playing soccer, scoring goals and suffering hard injuries, Batistuta could hardly walk. The fouls committed by defenders in the time he played where much more dangerous than the ones nowadays and that left him with several health problems.

After many years, Batistuta decided to go under a surgery in which his ankle problems were fixed. But before that he continues doing sport, as he is a sportsman, but as doctors didn’t allow him to play soccer, he replaced it with polo. Up the horse, he felt much more protected and could practice as much time as he wanted with no health problems.
