Mexico has received a warning from FIFA and the consequences could be catastrophic. The highest football organization will take serious measures if the homophobic cry continues in the stands, which would even mean an expulsion from the Qatar 2022 World Cup and the farewell to the 2026 World Cup headquarters.

The first sanction, which was announced this Friday, is that Mexico will play its next two home games in a knockout without an audience. The commitments that El Tri would play without fans in the octagonal final would be that of September 2 against Jamaica, on date 1, and that of October 7 against Canada, on matchday 4.

In addition, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee sanctioned the Mexican Football Federation with a fine of 60 thousand Swiss francs, that is, about 1 million 348 thousand 300 Mexican pesos. The next punishment will represent the loss of points for the Tricolor in the World Cup qualifying rounds; the chances of being excluded from Qatar 2022 and losing the 2026 World Cup venue are real.

What are the fines and penalties that Mexico could receive for homophobic screams in the final against the United States?

- Stay out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup

- Losing their locally in 2026 World Cup

- Next matches without a local audience (They already accumulates 2, but it can be more because of this)

- An economic fine of 60 thousand Swiss francs, that is, about 1 million 348 thousand 300 Mexican pesos.
